The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Supporting Inquiry-Based Unit Planning: A Primary School Case Study

人工智慧在探究課程規劃中的支持角色:小學案例研究

This study explores how AI—especially ChatGPT—supports teachers in planning and implementing inquiry-based learning (IBL) in a PYP classroom. Using the “Who We Are – Body System” unit as a case study, the research analyzed AI logs, lesson plans, classroom observations, and student work.

Findings show that AI acted as a co-planner, scaffolding tool, workload reducer, and engagement enhancer. AI strengthened conceptual alignment, assisted teachers in adjusting instruction, reduced preparation time, and increased students’ curiosity and critical thinking.

The study concludes that AI does not replace teachers but empowers them to design more meaningful inquiry learning experiences.

本研究探討人工智慧(AI),特別是 ChatGPT,如何協助 PYP 教師進行探究本位課程設計。以「Who We Are-身體系統」單元為案例,分析 AI 對話、教案、課堂觀察與學生作品。

研究指出,AI 在課程中扮演四大角色:共同設計者、動態鷹架工具、降低備課負擔、提升學生投入度。AI 協助整合概念、提供彈性建議、節省時間並激發學生的批判思考與好奇心。

研究結論認為:AI 並非取代教師,而是強化教師的專業判斷、創造力與探究課程品質。
