Reflecting Creativity: Grade 2 Kaleidoscope Project

In our #HowWeExpressOurselves unit this week, Grade 2 students took on a "light"-hearted project, combining #Science, #Art, and #UOI to create their own dazzling #kaleidoscopes. This hands-on experience sparked their creativity while exploring scientific concepts.

In Science class, students discovered how light refracts and reflects, learning how mirrors bend and direct light. These "illuminating" lessons helped them understand how reflective surfaces create the colorful, symmetrical designs within a kaleidoscope.

In #Art and #UOI, they then brought their ideas to life, crafting unique patterns to shine through their kaleidoscope lenses. Drawing on their knowledge of colors, shapes, and patterns, students made one-of-a-kind designs that transformed into true works of art.

By the end, students not only deepened their understanding of light reflection and refraction but also gained valuable artistic skills—and a handmade kaleidoscope to showcase! This activity brightened their day and highlighted how integrated learning can be truly enlightening.

創意映現:2年級UOI萬花筒專案

在本週的 #如何表達自我 單元中,我們的二年級學生結合了 #科學#藝術 和 #探究單元 的學習,創作出美麗而獨特的 #萬花筒!這個專題研習讓他們在動手探索科學概念的同時,展現出個人創意。

在科學課上,學生學習了光的折射與反射,探索光線在碰到反射面時如何改變方向並形成各種圖案。理解鏡子與光的相互作用是製作萬花筒的基礎,因為萬花筒依賴反射來創造對稱、色彩繽紛的設計。

隨後,在 #藝術 和 #探究單元 課堂中,學生設計了萬花筒內獨特的圖案。他們運用想像力以及對顏色、形狀和圖案的認識,創造出在萬花筒鏡片下栩栩如生的作品。科學與藝術的結合讓每位學生的作品都成為獨一無二的藝術品。

在專題結束後,學生不僅加深了對光學的理解,還學到新的藝術技巧,並擁有一個親手製作的萬花筒可以自豪地展示!這項活動展現了學科整合的魅力,讓學生對自己的科學知識和創作充滿自信與成就感。
